Do not miss our only overnight paddle offered in 2020. Leave on Thursday morning and be on adventures through Friday evening. We plan to leave from Westfeldt Park just south of Asheville for 15 miles of good paddling. We will do about half the mileage each day and be totally self supported in out sit on top kayaks. We plan to set up camp at Firefighter Island on Thursday evening. In the evening we can do some exploring and prep a good dinner. This section of the river has some small rapids but they are non-technical and suitable for beginners.
All non-personal items provided. The only items needed are: Baseball hat, swim suit, one change of clothes, small backpack (bookbag), sturdy tennis shoes or hiking shoes/boots, sunscreen, water bottle, flashlight/headlamp.
When we plan river trips we always leave open the option to change when river levels are not suitable. In this case we will work with families to plan an alternate trip.
